The Brief
After years of strong performance, the client felt their website was beginning to limit further growth. They faced important questions about how to ensure the business could keep advancing and how it should be future-proofed.
The client sought to leverage Shopify’s extensive ecosystem and continuous program of improvement to upgrade their site and maintain their competitive edge. They also aimed to capitalise on Shopify’s solid performance and reliability, reducing the risk of revenue lost to server issues.

Requirements
Brand / Design
A key part of the project was to refresh the brand and update the site’s theme. The new look was expected to align with current music technology design trends.
The new design should continue to position the business as both a leader and innovator. It should also emphasise the Disc’s status as a highly trusted retailer.
Functionality / Performance
Delivering a fast, high-converting site was a given, as was the need for flexibility and a capacity for future site enhancements.
There was a requirement for us to match aspects of functionality from the old site on a ‘like-for-like or else better’ basis, particularly where systems and processes had already been optimally tuned.
Additionally, our Shopify expertise was called upon to take advantage of the platform’s architecture and turn previously unfeasible ideas into reality.
